Beijing - Xian - Guilin - Shanghai - 13 days
Day 1: Welcome to China! Welcome to Beijing!
Beijing is China's capital and home to many of the
nation's most spectacular historical sites.
Day 2: We start our tour to Beijing with a visit to the
Forbidden City, one of the world's greatest palaces, home to Emperors over many Dynasties.
And on to
Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest square, this is where Mao proclaimed the founding of the Republic.
In the afternoon, we'll be zipping along on our rickshaws and visit the
Beijing Hutongs, the city's old alleyways.
We cap off the day with an exciting
Kung Fu Show, some serious jumping, tumbling, kicking and rolling!
Day 3: Today we'll be visiting the
Great Wall, one of the Wonders of the World! We will climb up (there's cable cars to bring us there)...
And then for a quick and fun slide down the
Toboggan, all the way from the top of the Great Wall!
Day 4: One of my favorite temples, the
Temple of Heaven, very colorful, great for people watching and...
We make a quick stop by the Olympic Green, remember the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube, icons of the
Beijing Olympics.
Later today we fly to
Xian. Xian served as China's capital for over ten dynasties.
This afternoon we will be flying to
Guilin, famous for its beautiful scenery.
Day 7: The Guilin Karst Mountains are legendary, today we explore the beautiful landscapes and formations throughout the city...
Day 8: Today we depart Guilin and cruise south to Yangshuo down the Li River...
Yangshuo is a smaller town nested among the beautiful hills on the side of the river, we have some free time to peddle along West Street.
And tonight we enjoy the one-of-a-kind Impression Sanjie Liu Show, a fantastic production with over 600 performers.
Day 10:We drive back to Guilin and fly to
Shanghai, the last stop on our tour.
Day 11: In Old Shanghai the
Yuyuan Gardens are a fine respite in the middle of the city, the Bazaar is a lot of fun for trinkets and souvenirs.
Day 12: Just in the outskirts of Shanghai, we visit
Zhujiajiao, one of the many ancient
water towns that are like little Venice's of China.
Day 14: Off to the airport aboard the
MagLev, the fastest train in the world in commercial operation, even faster than a Formula One car!
